Iran foot-volley team reached Asian Championship final


Iran’s national men’s foot-volley team has reached final round of the 3rd Asian Foot-volley Championship in Thailand setting up a date with the hosts. On Sunday morning, Iran’s B squad, comprised of Jamil Kor and Abdulati Nazari, opened the game against Australian rivals in a convincing fashion, picking up most of the points at the semifinal round of the Asian event. Iranians managed to gain a 2-0 victory over national foot-volley of Australia on road to the final round of the continental sportive event. Foot-volley players of Iran maintained the dominance on both sets (18-7, 18-5) subduing their powerful Australian opponent.






In the other semifinal fixture, Thailand A defeated Thailand B and became Iran’s competitor in the final round held on Sunday afternoon. The 3rd edition of Asian Foot-volley Championship kicked off in the Thai capital city of Bangkok on May 13, 2016 and ran through May 15, 2016. Foot-volley is essentially beach volleyball, except for the fact that players are not allowed to use their hands, and a football replaces the volleyball.
